Synopsis
Please not that this is a second hand book, and have inscriptions on the title page

Football has been a major source of recreation and entertainment in the Oakleigh area for many years, especially since the elevation of the Oakleigh club to senior status in 1929. The players and followers, due largely to their working-class environment, have treated the game seriously. Success on the field has become pride in the municipality, shown in such form as the club ‘s purple and gold colors being used publicly in the mid-1070s, when the woodwork at Oakleigh State Scholl and the trimmings at a nearby shopping plaza were painted purple and gold.
